Here is my final finished first draft of my magazine. This includes all the sections like my front cover, contents page and double page spread. I made light adjustments from my previous updates such as enlarging the image on the front cover to be behind the text and adjusting the temperature of the photos on the contents page.
Front cover: I like your use of a b+w image, this is a clear shot and the drop shadow blends it well with the rest of the magazine.
ReplyDelete- Consider how much writing you have on the front cover, can this be edited?
- Think about your masthead, again can there be an effect you lay over it to give connotations of the name.
- Some of your text sits over the top of the image, making it unclear what is written - please alter this.
- Could you, make use of the red colour coming through on your contents page in anyway on the front cover - possibly via the inclusion of a pug?
Contents Page - Think about filling the page rather than having a white border all the way around.
- Your shot types are very similar in both images - could you vary these to show a variety in your magazine.
- Are there any other elements you could include on your contents that you have found to be conventions of magazines e.g. a subscription box.
Double Page Spread - You have created a clear layout, again it needs to have the images and text put in to get an overall feel.
- You do not need to write the name of the magazine again at the top - you could consider having the name of the artist or a title for the article.
- You need to have a clear idea also of the colour scheme you will be using, for example what colour will the pull quotes be in, what typography, size?
